Adding, Moving or Deleting Menu Items
Adding Menu items.
When classifying works by media, genre, theme or color in the image editing page you will choose a classification from a list. (for example you might want to classify images into media categories of watercolor, acrylics, oils. If you need to add more classification types (i.e. a new media) there is a link from the image editing page to the page for adding menu items. This is where the menu item for that media type is created. You will notice that menu classifications are edited one category at a time. (i.e. you when you are making changes to media classifications all other options are grey with a link to edit the greyed out ones.)Choices for adding menu items vary depending on the type of menu item. For some types you will need to fill out a form which then automatically adds that menu item to the menu. For example a new exhibit requires that one fill out a the new exhibit form.
Moving Menu Items
On the same page page where you have the option to add new classification types you also have the option to move or delete menu items. Thus a text item could be moved from being a submenu of text to a new location such as a submenu of artist profile or a main menu item. You will notice that you can only move or delete items that you have created. You will not be able to do so for the original main menu items such as text, genre, color, year created...
Deleting Menu Items
The last choice on the move menu item drop down menu marked "delete XYZ" will delete the menu item named "XYZ". Deleteing a menu item does not delete the images or text items associated with it.
A less destructive alternative to deleting a menu item would be to hide it. This is done on the Menu rebuilding form.
Restrictions
It is not possible for items to be moved to be the submenu of a submenu. All menu items are either a main menu item or a submenu of another main menu item.
The original set of main menu items cannot be moved or deleted.
The year created submenu items cannot be moved or deleted, but they can be hidden on the Menu rebuilding form.
