Troubleshooting
If you encounter problems here are some likely culprits for a failed
image upload
- Incorrect image type:
- Only jpg and gif files will upload.
- Files in other formats such as psd, tiff, pdf will not upload
- The Fix: Open the file in photoshop and save as
a jpg or gif
- CMYK files will not upload
- If your image was originally created for a print use it
may be saved in CMYK color space
- If a file is another format such as psd, tiff, pdf or anything
else the upload will fail.
- The Fix: Open the file in photoshop and change to
rgb, then resave
(In photoshop look on the image menu, then image mode to change
to rgb)
- Image file too large:
- If image files are not sized
for the web they may take longer than expected to upload
or fail to upload
- The Fix: Open the file in photoshop and resize
(In photoshop look on the image menu, then image size to resize,
typically the maximum size in either dimension should be 650
pixels)
- Accidently logged out of FineArtPost
- The login is for a limited time (about 30 minutes). If you
are inactive you will be logged out.
- The Fix: login again
- Image name problem
- If an image file has an very long name or the name has characters
other than a-z, 1-9 the image may fail to upload
- The Fix: rename the file and try again
